Fanway is proud to present:

Dennis Velasco

Editor in Chief, Dennis Velasco: Dennis has been writing professionally about sports for several years, having written for SI.com, The New York Times, Yahoo! Sports, and SLAM, amongst many other sports destinations on the internet.  He's also appeared on television, radio, and internet podcasts around North America.  Dennis is a member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association, Society for American Baseball Research, and Association for Professional Basketball Research.  He annually competes in industry fantasy sports expert leagues against the likes of ESPN, CBS Sports, FOX Sports, and any other big-name site you can think of.  Dennis is a die-hard New York Jets fan, still counts Don Mattingly as his favorite baseball player (although Albert Pujols is thisclose to dethroning The Hitman... sacrilege!), and really hopes the New York Knicks can turn things around after the 2010 NBA free agency period.

Josh Komon

Josh Komon is a former television news director, and current freelance writer for helium.com and fourcornereduniverse.com.  As a math teacher, Josh is an expert statistician, though his predictions are based just as much on superstition.  Josh is a rare breed; a Steelers fan, and a Yankees fan.  2009 was a great year.

Rey Rey

Rey 'Rey-Rey' Moralde is fairly new to the sports blogging world. He founded The No-Look Pass in December 2008 and is also part of the monthly mega-NBA podcast, The 8th Seed, which also includes bloggers from great NBA blogs such as TalkHoops.Net, BothTeamsPlayedHard.Net, Project Spurs, and Red's Army. He can also be found as a guest in various NBA blogs and podcasts.

Sargent

Scott Sargent has been writing professionally about sports since 2003.  Over the years, his work has been featured on SI.com, Yahoo! Sports and About.com.  His analysis and opinions have been featured on the radio as well as various podcasts.  He is the co-founder and editor of the Cleveland sports blog, Waiting For Next Year, where he discusses baseball, football and basketball while avoiding any discussion around "what it is like to actually win something."

Nick Ruggia

Nick Ruggia is a comedian, radio personality, videographer, editor, and sports fan.  The order of roles switches depending on the time of day and if he's awake.  Nick is the resident humorist for Fanway and will give his take on the lighter and less serious side of sports.  Don't take his words as gospel, but take his sense of humor as something divine.

Adam Markowitz has been a freelance sports writer for the past four years.  His works have been published on various websites and publications, including ArenaFan Online and the Sports Prescription.  Adam graduated from Florida State University in 2007 with degrees in Music and History, and he still bleeds garnet and gold even though his Seminoles haven't fielded a championship football team in a decade.  In the Spring, you'll find Adam kicking around at various Spring Training locations around Florida, wondering (often aloud) how on earth his beloved Tampa Bay Rays are ever going to be able to repeat their magical run from 2008 with the Red Sox and Yankees spending ungodly amounts of money on their team.

Josh Sabo is an avid sports fan who has been following sports his whole life. His passion for sports started with an insignificant Yankees/Angels game and over time baseball and the Yankees became his idée fixe, and the timing couldn't have been better as the Yankees were in the midst of the late 1990s dynasty years. Josh is probably one of the few Yankees fans that don’t credit Joe Torre with the 90s team success feels that Joe Giradi was an upgrade. His stance on clutchness also tends to get him embroiled in arguments as while he realizes that they’re clutch hits, he’ll never call a certain player, clutch.  Josh's love for New York does not end with the Yankees as he also roots for the Jets, Knicks, and Rangers.  He's in an Empire State of mind.

Garrett Hill

Garrett Hill is young sportswriter, who is bursting onto the professional writing scene. He has written for several websites, including NFLTouchdown, Allfootball247, and MVP Texas. He was born and raised in California, and as a result is a lifelong Sacramento Kings, San Francisco 49ers, and Oakland A’s fan. Garrett enjoys not just writing about sports, but also regularly participating in them. His forte in terms of sports is tennis, and notes that Andy Roddick is his favorite athlete of all time. He desperately misses the days when the Kings were competitive and hopes that the new combination of Tyreke Evans and Omri Casspi can bring the wins back to Sacramento.
